Zopelar has built a distinguished place in the Brazilian electronic music industry. Musician, producer, DJ, co-founder of the famous party collective “ODD”, one of the events responsible for crafting São Paulo’s big reputation in the underground club culture around the globe. Zopelar is known as a complete and versatile DJ and music producer, and is a key figure in many parallel projects, releasing tracks under different alliances as: “My Girlfriend”, “Sphynx”, “Radioworkers” and “L’Homme Statue”.
With his signature “retro-futuristic-funky-groovy” style, Zopelar has made some celebrated albums and EPs released by labels like Apron Records, Tartelet Records, Soul Clap Records among others. As a prolific producer and sound designer his works are also related to contemporary art pieces and movie scores.Known for his energetic presence in the booth, Zopelar shows a nice blend of all his influences, ranging from house, disco and techno with jazzy, dreamy, acid, raw and uplifting vibes, making unpredictable transitions between genres and moods that can shake any type of crowd.
Between DJing and live acts the artist has played festivals and venues like Sonar, Dekmantel, DGTL, MELT festival, Panorama Bar / Berghain, CTM Festival, Unsound, Dark Mofo and all the main clubs, parties and festivals in Brazil as well.
